Shawns Latest Projects:
Since its creation, the fund has raised over $325,000.
Since 1999, provided insulin pumps for 32 children with
diabetes who could not afford them.
It has sent over 197 to Camp fun in the Sun, a camp for
children with diabetes.
It has contributed over $65,000 to fund 25 different literacy
programs such as the Martin Luther King Center, Liberty Park
Children's Center and the Native America center summer literacy program.
Eight local teachers receive Classroom Library Grants
The Shawn Higgins Memorial Fund has helped eight local elementary teachers
purchase new classroom libraries. The teachers were given the opportunity
to purchase both fiction and non-fiction books. Thanks for helping us make a difference.
Offered funding to a local elementary school used for providing
a tutoring program for Title 1 parents and children.
